    Financial Disclaimer & Affiliate Disclosure

    ClearDebt LLC · Effective April 4, 2026

    Overview

ClearDebt (ClearDebt LLC) is committed to full transparency about how we make money and how we present financial information. This page explains our financial disclaimer and our affiliate compensation relationships so you can make informed decisions when using our Service.

    Not Financial Advice

Important: ClearDebt is not a financial advisor.

ClearDebt is a self-directed debt tracking and projection tool that helps you calculate and visualize your debt payoff progress based on data you enter. Nothing on this website or within the application constitutes personalized financial, investment, credit, tax, or legal advice. Specifically:

    • Debt payoff projections (Avalanche, Snowball, Hybrid) are mathematical estimates based solely on the data you enter. They are not guarantees of financial outcomes.
    • AI-generated strategy analysis reflects general principles of debt management and does not account for your complete financial picture.
    • Interest rate comparisons and savings estimates are approximations that may not reflect all fees, compounding periods, or promotional rate expirations.
    • Balance transfer card recommendations are presented for informational purposes only. Card terms, approval decisions, credit limits, and transfer fees vary by applicant and issuer.
    • ClearDebt does not consider your full credit profile, income, tax situation, employment status, or other factors a licensed advisor would evaluate.
Always consult a qualified financial advisor, credit counselor (look for NFCC-certified counselors), or licensed attorney before making major financial decisions.

    No Guarantees of Outcome

Debt payoff timelines and interest savings shown in the app are projections based on your inputs and assumed consistent payments. Actual results will vary based on:

    • Changes in your interest rates (especially variable-rate accounts).
    • Missed or reduced payments.
    • New debt added to your accounts.
    • Changes in your financial circumstances.
    • Creditor-side changes such as rate increases, fee additions, or account closures.
    • Inaccurate data entered into ClearDebt.
ClearDebt is not responsible for financial outcomes based on projections generated by the Service.

    Affiliate Disclosure

Required FTC Disclosure: ClearDebt earns commissions from affiliate partners.

ClearDebt LLC participates in affiliate marketing programs. This means we may receive compensation when you click on links to financial products — such as balance transfer credit cards — displayed within the Service or on our website, and when you apply for or are approved for those products. This disclosure is made in compliance with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines on endorsements and testimonials (16 C.F.R. Part 255).

    Our Affiliate Partners & Products

The following types of financial products may be presented with affiliate compensation relationships:

    Balance Transfer Credit Cards

We may display offers for balance transfer credit cards (such as cards from Citi, Wells Fargo, U.S. Bank, and others) through affiliate networks such as CardRatings.com, Commission Junction, or direct issuer programs. When you click these offers, we may receive a referral fee if you apply or are approved. The compensation we receive does not affect the APR, fees, or terms offered to you — those are determined solely by the card issuer.

    Personal Loans & Debt Consolidation

We may in the future display offers for personal loans or debt consolidation products from affiliate lending partners. We will update this disclosure when such partnerships are established.

    Financial Tools & Services

We may link to or recommend third-party financial tools, budgeting apps, or credit monitoring services for which we may receive compensation.

    How Our Affiliate Relationships Work

    • Affiliate links are tracked by cookies or link parameters placed by the affiliate network when you click.
    • We earn a commission only if you complete a qualifying action (e.g., submitting a credit card application or being approved), depending on the program structure.
    • We do not receive or store your application data. Applications are processed entirely by the card issuer or lender.
    • Affiliate compensation does not influence which products appear first unless explicitly labeled as 'Sponsored' or 'Featured.'
    • We strive to recommend products we believe are genuinely useful for users managing debt, regardless of compensation level.
    • Not all products we recommend have affiliate relationships — some are included purely on merit.

    Editorial Independence

We are committed to maintaining editorial independence in our product recommendations. Our primary goal is to surface balance transfer card offers that are genuinely relevant to your debt payoff situation — cards with long 0% APR intro periods, low or no transfer fees, and favorable terms for people actively paying down debt. However, you should be aware:

    • We may be paid more for some card offers than others, and this could influence display ranking in some cases.
    • Card terms shown in the app are based on publicly available information and may not reflect the most current offers. Always verify terms on the card issuer's website before applying.
    • Approval for any credit product is not guaranteed and depends on your creditworthiness.

    Credit Card Offer Disclosures

When we display credit card offers, the following standard disclosures apply:

    • All credit card offers are subject to credit approval by the card issuer.
    • Advertised APRs, promotional periods, and fees are provided for informational purposes and may have changed since last updated. Always verify current terms at the issuer's website.
    • Balance transfer fees (typically 3–5% of the transferred amount) may apply and are separate from the card's regular APR.
    • After the promotional 0% APR period ends, any remaining balance will accrue interest at the card's standard purchase APR.
    • Applying for a credit card results in a hard credit inquiry, which may temporarily affect your credit score.
    • ClearDebt does not process, transmit, or store any credit card application data.

    Uploaded Statement Disclosures

When you upload financial statements (credit card statements, loan statements, etc.) to ClearDebt, the following disclosures apply:

    • Documents are uploaded to extract financial data (balances, APRs, minimum payments) to populate your debt dashboard.
    • We do not share, sell, or use your uploaded documents for any purpose beyond providing the Service to you.
    • We are not a credit bureau, lender, or financial institution. We do not report any information from your statements to credit bureaus.
    • We strongly recommend redacting your full account numbers, Social Security numbers, and banking credentials before uploading statements. This information is not necessary for debt tracking.
    • Uploaded documents are stored securely and can be deleted by you at any time.
    • ClearDebt is not responsible for any decisions made based on data extracted from uploaded documents if that data is inaccurate or misread.
